Emerus Community Hospital in Tomball is teaming up with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center this summer to host a community blood drive.

The drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 in the parking lot of the hospital located at 24429 Tomball Parkway near Northpointe Boulevard.

“Because the need for blood remains constant, we encourage our community to participate,” said Hospital Administrator Paula Gonzales. “According to the Blood Center, about one in seven people entering a hospital need blood. The blood donations we receive can help a variety of individuals from trauma victims, surgery patients and more.”

Interested donors are advised to bring a valid photo ID, eat an iron-rich meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Appointments and advanced registration are recommended, but walk-ins are also welcomed. For more information or to schedule an appointment visit www.emerus.com/tomball
