Emerus Community Hospital in Tomball is teaming up with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center this fall to host a community blood drive.

The drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 8 in the parking lot of the hospital located at 24429 Tomball Parkway near Northpointe Boulevard.

“In a medical emergency, often the most important element is the availability of blood,” said Hospital Administrator Paula Gonzales. “This is just one of the reasons we are encouraging the community to donate with us. The blood donations we receive can be used to help accident victims, surgical patients and people with anemia.”

Interested donors are advised to bring a valid photo ID, eat an iron-rich meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Appointments and advanced registration are recommended, but walk-ins are also welcomed.
