Emerus Commits to Sponsorship of Cops and Robbers 5K, Benefits Sugar Land Police Department

HOUSTON – Sept. 13, 2016 – Emerus is supporting the community to help raise much-needed funds for local police through a competitive race planned for Saturday, Sept. 24 at Memorial Park in Sugar Land.

The Cops and Robbers 5K will benefit select employees of the Sugar Land police department who were devastated by floods earlier this year. All proceeds will be dedicated to rebuilding the homes of affected staff.

“We take pride in delivering compassionate care to the community when they need us most,” said Mike Kohler, regional CEO at Emerus. “First responders dedicate their lives to keeping our community safe, and we are forever grateful. Losses like this are devastating, so we jumped at the opportunity to support the cause.”

The race will begin at 7 a.m. at the intersection of University Drive and Commonwealth Boulevard, followed by an awards ceremony at 8:30 a.m.

A Kids Fun Run 1K for ages 10 and under will begin at 8 a.m., and will be routed around the lake at Memorial Park beginning at 8 a.m.
