BEMC Aubrey Donates to AISD

The Aubrey Independent School District, 12 miles northeast of Denton and 40 miles north of Dallas, prides itself on providing the benefits of a small district, while keeping up with the ever-changing demands of the 21st century. That’s a mission Baylor Emergency Medical Centers and The Woodlands-based Emerus Holdings understand and embrace.

Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey – one of seven Baylor Emergency Medical Center facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex – represents a compassionate, efficient and patient-centered approach to the delivery of emergency medical care. It’s not surprising, then, that when Baylor EMC’s growth strategy into rapidly expanding communities included Aubrey in 2012, the hospital also looked for ways to enhance the Baylor Health Care System’s charitable purpose and mission. Baylor EMC at Aubrey quickly appreciated the important role Aubrey ISD’s progressive and academically recognized school district plays in this unique rural community fast becoming known as the “horse capital” of Texas. And, Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey reached out, looking for ways it could help.

The Aubrey Independent School District’s students excel at athletics, academics and cultural endeavors, as well as agricultural and civic service. To support this enriched academic environment, Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey will provide rebranding services and design for the AISD’s academic and athletic logos. Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey also provided the high school marching band with a new, custom-built equipment trailer.

“This is such an exciting time for Aubrey schools, and to have a community sponsor like Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey provide this level of support to our students and community shows its commitment to the enriching nature of education,” said Debby Sanders, superintendent of Aubrey Independent School District. “We knew the Baylor facility in Aubrey would bring resources to the table that would help achieve our vision.”

Baylor Emergency Medical Center at Aubrey enlisted Rare Design of Hattiesburg, Miss., nationally known for its logo work for multiple major league sports teams including the Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Charlotte Hornets and Portland Timbers, to help develop concepts and create the new logo for the Aubrey Chaparrals. In addition, Baylor Emergency Medical Center and Aubrey officials worked with the Aubrey High School Band and Booster Club to have a custom trailer built based on the band’s specifications and needs. The total value of the logo creation work and band trailer exceeds $40,000.

“The Aubrey community has been so important to our success that we wanted to take the opportunity and show our support to the families and students who represent the area’s future,” said Toby Hamilton, CEO of Emerus Holdings of Houston, joint venture partner with Baylor Health Care System in developing Baylor Emergency Medical Centers. “The people, the businesses and the schools in Aubrey do such a tremendous job energizing kids and supporting their development, we saw this as a perfect opportunity to collaborate in supporting education and the arts.”

The new Aubrey Independent School District logo and band trailer will be unveiled in a special ceremony at Aubrey High School’s final home football game on Friday, Oct. 31.
