Devon, Director of Patient Access, embarked on her unique career journey with Emerus over 17 years ago. She began her path as a Front Office Coordinator, and through dedication and hard work, she ascended to the role of Director. What did your career journey look like? 
“My healthcare journey started in medical records. From there, I moved into a unit secretary position in the emergency department of a local hospital. Then, I met Cyndi and a few of Emerus’ founding physicians, and when they offered me a job, I jumped at the opportunity! I started as a night-shift Front Office Coordinator at the first-ever Emerus location. Over the last 17 years I worked my way up to the director position.”

What suggestions do you have for a Patient Access Specialist starting their career?
“My advice to anyone starting their career regardless of what it is, is to work hard. I truly believe you can achieve anything with hard work and dedication.”

“I chose Emerus because I believed in the vision of our founding members, and I continue to choose Emerus because of the incredible people I work with every day! I love that my work team feels like family to me.”

“We celebrate success by rewarding our team members in each market and featuring them internally with our teams.”

What do you like to do outside of work?
“Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I also love reading and traveling.”
