What initially motivated you to work in emergency care, and how has this award validated your career choice?
“I have always been driven by a passion for emergency medicine. Developing the skills and expertise to become a part of the ER felt both essential and natural to me. Receiving this award years later is a testament to how hard work and dedication truly pay off.”
How do you personally ensure that patients feel cared for during what is often a stressful time for them?
“By treating them like they are human. Being in the hospital can be a traumatic experience for patients – some more than others. Being a safe space for patients to vent, and showing empathy comes naturally. I treat others how I would want to be treated.”

“Teamwork, clear communications and introductions, individualized approaches and keeping our patients informed or updated on everything we do.”

What initially motivated you to work in emergency care, and how has this award validated your career choice?
“The ability to make a significant impact on patients lives during a stressful time. This award validates that I made the right choice!” – Lois
How do you personally ensure that patients feel cared for during what is often a stressful time for them?
“I like to make sure that patients are kept up to date on every step of their ER visit. If I notice a patient is stressed, I will talk with them at bedside to try and make them feel as comfortable as I can for their visit.” – Caitlyn
What initially motivated you to work in emergency care, and how has this award validated your career choice?
“I have always enjoyed helping others. Working in the emergency department has taught me a lot and has given me many opportunities. This award validates that I am meant to work in emergency care.” – Caitlyn
