Baylor Emergency Medical Centers at Keller Honored with Award for Laboratory Excellence

DALLAS – Sept. 2, 2016 – Baylor Emergency Medical Centers at Keller has been selected as recipient of the 2016-2017 Laboratory Excellence Award from COLA, a national laboratory accreditor and an advocate for quality in laboratory medicine and patient care.

To receive this award, hospitals must obtain a perfect survey score, according to standards set forth by the COLA organization, and have no documented complaints against the laboratory, in addition to demonstrating successful proficiency testing for the previous survey period. COLA inspectors conduct these rigorous quality surveys on a biannual basis.

“This prestigious award signifies our unwavering commitment to the highest quality patient care,” said David Stillwell, COO of Baylor Emergency Medical Centers. “We know how important it is to have access to the best medical services, and we strive to provide nothing less than what we expect for our own families.”

Baylor Emergency Medical Centers – an affiliate of Baylor Scott & White Health – has served the Keller community with compassionate, patient-centered care since December 2013.

Its community-based approach prioritizes efficiency in health care with hospital-level amenities, including a dedicated inpatient wing and on-site pharmacy, in a smaller campus setting.
