The Hospitals of Providence Announces Expansion of New Emergency Room in West El Paso

In its continued commitment to expand access to care, The Hospitals of Providence, in partnership with Emerus, announced today in a press conference its plans to establish a new emergency room at the crossroads of Mesa and Doniphan. The new location – The Hospitals of Providence Emergency Room Crossroads, located at 8041 N. Mesa El Paso, Texas 79932, will strengthen access to emergency care services for rapidly growing communities in New Mexico and the Upper Valley.

The new facility will be The Hospitals of Providence 11th emergency room location in El Paso and its fifth developed through the joint venture between The Hospitals of Providence and Emerus. The new facility will offer 24/7 emergency care services for adults and children and onsite imaging and lab for faster diagnosis.

“For generations, we have invested in the health and well-being of El Paso. This new Emergency Room Crossroads continues that investment and will expand access for our neighbors in the El Paso Upper Valley and Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, New Mexico,” said Nicholas Tejeda, Western Group President for Tenet Healthcare. “Ongoing I-10 construction and increasing traffic can make it challenging to travel to a hospital in an emergency. We hope that this new ER will help relieve some of that burden on patients and families.”

The Hospitals of Providence expects to break ground on construction in early 2027.
