HOUSTON – November 9, 2015 – For the 850 students at J.L. Lyon Elementary in Magnolia Independent School District, having homework folders was a little luxury they had been without the past few years. But that quickly changed Wednesday when Emerus Community Hospital in Tomball representatives showed up with cases of red-ribboned bundles of customized homework folders.
“We are so blessed to have a community partner like Emerus,” said Principal Tammy Haley. “The staff is excited to have official Tuesday folders that represent the pride we have here at Lyon Elementary.”
Opened in 1993, J.L. Lyon Elementary in Magnolia ISD serves pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The school provides a rigorous and engaging curriculum with no limits on learning. Along with academics, the school also fosters the love of the arts and sciences by offering programs such as choir, chess club, robotics club, science club and Project Reach – the school’s gifted and talented program for fourth- and fifth-grade students.
