Construction Begins on Three-story Hospital Facility Serving Residents of South Tyler

The new micro-hospital will house a sophisticated emergency department, inpatient beds, advanced imaging center and ambulatory service center.

TYLER, TEXAS – December 1, 2015 – On Friday, Dec. 4, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics will break ground in South Tyler as construction begins on a 41,200-square-foot community hospital, offering residents convenient access to high-quality health care.

The ceremonial groundbreaking will mark the official start of construction on the new state-of-the-art 24-hour Mother Frances Hospital South Tyler, staffed by board-certified physicians dedicated to providing the same level of compassionate, award-winning care found at existing Mother Frances Hospital locations.

“We are pleased to offer this community access to additional TMFHC services for Tyler residents as the region continues to grow,” said Lindsey Bradley, FACHE, president, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. “When you have an emergency, minutes count. Our new Mother Frances Hospital in South Tyler will provide care for emergent medical needs, admit patients for routine hospital care, or stabilize and transfer patients needing complex care to our main facility.”

“Providing access to high-quality health care is foundational to the mission of Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics,” said Ray Thompson, FACHE, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “By building MFH South Tyler, we will serve the people of East Texas with compassion, efficiency and excellence and maintain our high standards for quality, safety and service.”`

As part of the expansion, TMF has entered into a joint venture partnership with Emerus, a nationally recognized leader in the delivery of efficient medical care, to build and manage the site. This agreement will position TMF for future growth opportunities to accommodate the area’s rising population.

“We share TMFs mission to deliver sophisticated, yet affordable, health care solutions to the community,” said Dr. Toby Hamilton, CEO of Emerus. “This facility will make high-quality medical care accessible to patients close to home, and we’re excited to partner with TMFHC to meet growing medical needs in the Tyler area.”

MFH South Tyler, to be located at 8389 S. Broadway Ave., will include a comprehensive emergency department, inpatient beds, advanced imaging and diagnostic laboratory services. The second level will house an imaging center with the latest advancements in technology, and the third floor will comprise an ambulatory service center with a complement of five OR suites.
