Patient Access Specialist –
Baylor Emergency Medical Centers at Burleson
How long have you worked here?
I’ve worked here since May 1, 2014.
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
When I was 18 years old, it was my dream job to work at Abercrombie and Fitch. I was able to travel to different stores, work at events, model clothes and meet some cool people along the way.
What is your proudest moment or experience treating our patients?
I had a patient who asked me about abortion clinics in the area when she came up to the front desk for discharge. She confided in me, which I wasn’t expecting, and we shared an experience that I was hoping would influence her decision about the unborn child. She was so grateful to have someone to talk to without judgment, when she just needed someone to talk to, especially when it related to such a life-changing situation. I was happy that she trusted me, and that moment reminded me of what patient care is all about.
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
• Visit the Grand Canyon
• Give birth to my first child
• Take my mom and dad on a vacation they will remember forever
What is your hidden talent, hobby or greatest interest outside of work?
I love organizing! I especially love cute, functional containers, bags and boxes that will help organize any space. We built our new home last summer and since then, I have become obsessed with organizing every space in that house. Sometimes, I think I should have become a professional organizer because it’s a stress reliever for me, and I enjoy it so much!
What are your top 3 life highlights?
My husband and I building our first home
Adopting our dog Bama
Becoming a part of the Emerus family to begin my career path
What is your dream vacation?
Flying to Sweden, or somewhere near there, on a private jet to spend time enjoying the beautiful scenery, toruing castles and bikeriding through the villages.
If you could be anyone from any time period, who would it be and why?
I would like to have been Princess Diana, because she was able to travel the world and experience different cultures. Not to mention, she lived in a castle and was treated like royalty.
Favorite national observance/why?
Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. I love being on the lake and spending time with friends, barbequeing and watching fireworks.
