How long have you worked here, and what is your role?
I have been here since January 2014.
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Prior to becoming a nurse, my most unusual and interesting job was when I worked at a meat packing plant and later as a restaurant inspector (but no, I am not a vegetarian).
What is your proudest moment or experience treating our patients?
I have many, but every time I see a patient arrive with fear and concern and am able to make them smile or laugh and help them to relax.
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
• Jump out of a perfectly good aircraft
• Take a river cruise through Europe
• Travel through Australia
What is your hidden talent, hobby or greatest interest outside of work?
I like to do woodworking (build furniture), when time permits.
What are your top 3 life highlights?
• Birth of my children
• Becoming a nurse
• Working for this organization
What is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation would be a cruise around the world.
If you could be anyone from any time period, who would it be and why?
Teddy Roosevelt at San Juan Hill. He ignored the detractors, despite his age and health, and was able to successfully lead his troops.
Favorite national observance/why?
New Year’s Day, because it’s a day to reflect on where you’ve come from and to acknowledge that you’re fortunate to have gotten through another year.
Favorite medicine-based movie or show/why?
“Patch Adams.” Health care is not always about the technology; it’s much more basic (humanity and humor).
