Jeannie Blackshear

Patient Access Specialist – Baylor Emergency Medical Centers at Keller

How long have you worked here?
Almost two years.

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I previously worked as a semiconductor water fabrication in a Class 1 clean-room. It was like working in a science fiction movie.

What is your proudest moment or experience treating our patients?
I can’t think of anything specific for myself; however, I have been extremely proud to be a part of a consistent, collective effort that strives to provide exceptional care to our patients.

What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
Visit Israel, write a book and attend a USA World Cup soccer match.

What is your hidden talent, hobby or greatest interest outside of work?
I play the guitar. According to my family, it is a talent that should be hidden (and forgotten).

What are your top 3 life highlights?
Witnessing the birth of my niece, taking a spontaneous roadtrip with my mother and each time I walk into a classroom to teach.

What is your dream vacation?
Trans-Canadian Railway tour

If you could be anyone from any time period, who would it be and why?
Angelina Jolie (duh, she’s married to Brad Pitt).

Favorite national observance/why?
Flag Day, which is June 14 and also happens to be my birthday.

Favorite medicine-based movie or show/why?
I admit, I watch way too much “Grey’s Anatomy.” Not so much for the medicine, though. Mostly because of McDreamy, McSteamy and McLovin.
